- The aim of this unit is to develop the learner’s ability to analyse the meaning of music in an urban context. Learners will be able to analyse the impact of music on society historically and in the 21-century urban context. Learners will be analysing a range of urban music genres
- develop composition and production skills. Learner will coordinate a production of an original composition in a selected urban music genre. They will be able to review their composition, production and its impact considering their own development and social movement. The composition does not need to be written in a traditional format. It can be developed in any format. The production can be through use of technology or in a face-to-face performance. The aim of this unit is to enable learners to be creative in their approach to the production or performance.
