Musical Theatre for Actors Duet Grade 2

    Verified
    Key Learning Objectives:
    • Duet examinations at the lower grades 1 – 5 are designed to encourage collaborative working in the arts and to explore varied musical theatre repertoire from all genres, styles and periods. Collaboration encourages feedback and reflection, so these examinations are to be seen as an essential part of the performer's development as each element encountered interacts to create a unit of action. In comparison to other performing arts subjects this work is similar to that of the duologue in the acting examination. These early-grade examinations allow both performers to share ideas and apply knowledge, understanding and performance skills to produce thoughtful, unique and original interpretations based on a creative engagement with the musical theatre material. A firm understanding of this process supports the development of duet work in the higher grades.
