Core vocabulary for each theme (family, school, holidays, etc.)

Mastery of core vocabulary necessitates the precise retrieval and manipulation of lexical items across the three DfE-mandated themes: Identity and Culture; Local, National, International and Global Areas of Interest; and Current and Future Study and Employment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to deploy vocabulary with grammatical accuracy, specifically regarding gender, case, and pluralisation, while distinguishing between cognates and false friends. Proficiency is assessed through the adaptation of vocabulary to suit varying registers, time frames, and complex syntactic structures.
