    About Pearson Edexcel GCSE Turkish

You will learn to use Turkish in both formal and informal situations, and to understand and respond to written and spoken Turkish from a variety of sources.     The Pearson Edexcel GCSE Turkish qualification is assessed through four externally examined papers, each worth 25% of the final grade. Paper 1 (Listening and Understanding) and Paper 3 (Reading and Understanding) are tiered (Foundation and Higher) and test your comprehension of spoken and written Turkish. Paper 2 (Speaking) is a non-tiered assessment that includes a role-play, a picture-based discussion, and a conversation. Paper 4 (Writing) is tiered and requires you to produce written responses in Turkish, including a translation task. The total number of marks varies by tier, but each paper contributes equally to the overall grade. There is no coursework component; all assessment is linear, taking place at the end of the course.
