- Basso Continuo
- A continuous bass part provided for a keyboard instrument (like a harpsichord) and a bass instrument (like a cello) to provide harmonic structure.AQA

- Chromaticism
- The use of notes outside the prevailing key signature, often to create tension or colour.AQA

- Homophonic Texture
- A texture where a primary melody is supported by chordal accompaniment.AQA

- Polyphonic Texture
- A texture consisting of two or more independent melodic lines playing at the same time.AQA

- Rubato
- A flexible approach to tempo where the performer speeds up and slows down for expressive purposes.AQA
T
- Terraced Dynamics
- Sudden shifts in volume (e.g., from loud to soft) without gradual crescendos or diminuendos.AQA
